These courses are taught utilizing NWCOA's learning management system, Thinkific. Students will have 31 days to complete the course and test. Skipping portions of the video, quizzes or test will result in failure of the course. No refunds will be provided for course failures. 


The courses are taught by Certified NWCOA Instructors. Upon completion of the course and successful passing of a test, the student will become certified in that topic for a term of five years. Successful students will also receive a certificate of completion and have use of the logo mark in marketing materials.



Bat Standards Certified

The NWCOA Bat Standards Certified course is offered by NWCOA to aid in the survival and future of bats in North America, as well as to educate those who perform bat exclusion services in residential and commercial structures. The Bat Standards Certified Course (Part 1) covers bat biology (little brown, big brown, free-tailed, and pallid bats), bat behavior, bat identification, bat morphology, service agreement language for bat removal and guano removal, seasonal restrictions, inspection techniques, equipment, safety, detailed exclusion techniques, job pricing, decontamination techniques, rabies, bat handling, updated white-nose syndrome information, and much more.

NWCOA Certified Reptile & Amphibian Course - LEVEL 1

NWCOA brings its Reptile and Amphibian Course - Level 1 online to train WCOs working with reptiles and amphibians at homes and business. This course provides information on reptiles and amphibians commonly managed by WCOs and is taught by expert herpetologists in the field.

Bird Management Certified - LEVEL 1

The NWCOA Certified Bird Management Course, Part 1 is offered by NWCOA to train WCOs that currently perform or wish to add residential and small commercial bird management to their wildlife management services. The Bird Management Certified Course (Part 1) covers laws and regulations, biology and behavior of commonly encountered bird species, damage identification, zoonotic disease, control methods, habit modification including exclusion, frightening devices, shooting and trapping, and toxicants and repellents, and business management and customer relations.

Rodent Standards Certified

The NWCOA Rodent Standards Certified course aims to educate Wildlife Control Operators (WCOs) and Pest Control Operators (PCOs) on frequently encountered and often overlooked rodent species. This course discusses the biology, behavior and identification these species as well as the various control methods and exclusion effective for each.

Zoonotic Disease Awareness

Those who work with or otherwise have contact with wildlife and other animals - and their parasites - need to be aware of the risks posed by transmissible infectious disease.  This full-day training program provides a broad overview of infectious and zoonotic disease and sheds light on key risks and dangers associated with the species and groups with which wildlife and pest control professionals typically interact.
