The NWCOA Certified Bird Management Course, Part 1 is offered by NWCOA to train WCOs that currently perform or wish to add residential and small commercial bird management to their wildlife management services. This course is a one-day, classroom style training course taught by Master NWCOA Instructors and Certified NWCOA Instructors. The Bird Management Certified Course (Part 1) covers laws and regulations, biology and behavior of commonly encountered bird species, damage identification, zoonotic disease, control methods, habit modification including exclusion, frightening devices, shooting and trapping, and toxicants and repellents, and business management and customer relations. This course will be taught utilizing NWCOA's learning management system. Attendees will be able to move through the course at their own pace. Skipping portions of the video, quizzes or test will result in failure of the course. No refunds will be provided for course failures. This course training course is taught by Certified NWCOA Instructors. Upon completion of this course and successful passing of a test, the WCO will become NWCOA Bird Management Certified for a term of five years. Successful students will also receive a certificate of completion and have use of the logo mark in marketing materials.
